This is the first in a series of posts by the Mars Hill campus pastors looking at how God has moved across Mars Hill Church during 2009. Pastor Bubba Jennings is the campus pastor from the Ballard campus.
We serve a loving and gracious God, who loves us so much that he sent his Son, Jesus, [...]

The Generous Campaign: Our Response to God’s Goodness

by Pastor Jamie Munson on Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

Check your mailbox this week for information about the Generous Campaign (if you don’t get the mailer, pick up a copy at your campus this Sunday).
We’re kicking off a church-wide effort to raise funds for a number of local ministry needs and our global effort to see as many churches and disciples of Jesus as [...]

How Much Do You Know About Acts 29?

by Nick Bogardus on Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

Christian blogger Tim Challies recently interviewed Pastor Scott Thomas about the history of Acts 29, what it does, and how working with Pastor Mark has influenced him. Acts 29 has planted nearly 300 churches and trained thousands of pastors around the globe. If you are a man who feels a call to church planting or [...]

Mars Hill Community Group In The News

by Nick Bogardus on Thursday, October 1st, 2009

A Mars Hill Church community group made local news recently when they installed a new mural at a neighborhood community center. This is just one of the ways that we live for Jesus as a city within a city; knowing culture, loving people, and seeing lives transformed to live for Jesus.
Are you in a community [...]

Mercy and Love: Collective and Distributed

by Pastor Jamie Munson on Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

I was recently asked in an interview with the Seattle Times what we do for the community. It got me thinking about our church’s approach to mercy ministry.
Our methods range from collective to fully distributed. To illustrate what I mean, here are some examples from the whole gamut:
Collective Efforts
Sending resources and support to Vision [...]

by Nick Bogardus on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

On top of fitting over 500 people into the Lobo Theater for their launch this past Sunday, Pastor Dave Bruskas and the Albuquerque campus were featured across three local network affiliates – ABC, NBC, & FOX – that night. In addition to the campus opening, what was the story of note? It was a story [...]

Mars Hill members are on the move using MicroMission funds and some good old fashioned elbow grease to love and serve the city. Here are the stories from the past month:

Ham and Eggs and Jesus – Generous #12

by Mars Hill Church on Saturday, April 25th, 2009

A Queen Anne community group shared the joy of Easter with nearby low-income families when they delivered 35 boxes of groceries to a Lake City apartment complex earlier this month.

The families had signed up for groceries with Queen Anne-based CityTeam Ministries, a Christian organization already at work in the apartment community. Thanks to four full [...]

CHANGED BY JESUS - October 14th, 2009

“I didn’t care anymore”

Changed By Jesus #54
By a female teenager at the Ballard campus
I was raised going to church every Sunday. I thought I was a Christian because I was really good at following rules and thought I was an expert on Jesus. But the personal, life-changing relationship wasn’t there.
This seemed to work for me in middle school, [...]
