The Good Word From London
I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to the UK last week. It was very encouraging to see what God is doing around the world, in part through the work of Mars Hill and Acts 29…
Only 3 to 7 percent of the people in the UK attend church, which generally means that their best scenario matches Seattle–one of the least-churched cities in the U.S. and approximately 8 percent Christian.
I’m grateful that Steve Timmis will be leading Acts 29 throughout Western Europe. He is an experienced pastor with a wonderful family, a heart for people, and a great love for Jesus.
Steve’s got his work cut out for him, but the London Acts 29 Conference showed great promise. Over one hundred people registered from twelve different countries.
Please pray for Stuart and Rachel Dean, the first Acts 29 church planters in the new region. They have endured great trial as a couple; Rachel has had 45 surgeries since she was a child, with nine bouts of meningitis. Their faith and trust in the sovereign hand of God is exemplary, and they deeply want to see people meet Jesus.
I am thankful for my time with the Deans, Steve Timmis, the good folks at CCK Brighton, Andrew Baughen in London, JR Vassar in New York, and the many brothers and sisters along the way. I give you their thanks as well…
