Ten Ideas for Everyday Saving
Over the next week or so, I’ll be posting content and advice from our presenters at the recent Financial Training Day.

The “Ten Everyday Savings Ideas” are from Angela Giboney, who volunteers with our our Financial Coaching Ministry. She is a graduate of the College of Financial Planning, a life insurance broker, and a registered representative with HBW Securities LLC.
- Give faithfully.
- Use a written budget–plan your expenditures, research before you spend, and always use a list when shopping.
- Pay bills on time–no late fees or overdrafts. If you have debt, contact your creditors and ask them to lower your interest rate.
- Use cash instead of credit cards or debit cards.
- Whenever possible, use the golden words: “Is that the best you can do?”
- Eat out less and more frugally. Drink water.
- Beware of free and/or package deals. Consider your choice carefully, and do the math: what are you giving up by choosing this product/package?
- Give yourself time to think before making large purchases.
- Have a plan for unexpected or extra money so that you don’t spend it on frivolous things.
- When you want to find a good deal, ask friends and look on The City Marketplace or Craigslist. Consider posting a request.
