Changed by Jesus #18: Your Comments
The “Changed by Jesus” series features stories about how Jesus is working through the ministry of Mars Hill Church to change lives. If God has used Mars Hill to transform your life, please consider emailing your account to testimony[at]marshillchurch.org.
Today I want to share with you a few of the responses to the Changed by Jesus series. One of the reasons we come together as a church is to encourage one another with stories of Jesus’ work in our own lives.

CBJ#15: Light in the Darkness
This is an awesome encouragement to me. As a young guy, it is a difficult struggle with sin, especially with lust and its outward forms. This testimony helped to remind me of Jesus’ love, and I thank Tara for that. It’s always a joy to be reminded about our Dad and big brother.

CBJ#3: Repent and be Baptized
How very encouraging. Thanks so much for sharing. Sometimes I wonder if people are still having life-changing experiences, and reading your testimony gives me faith to pray and hope.

And from back in the beginning:
CBJ#1: At the Cross
Jesus did the same for me last winter when my husband of 15 years suddenly wanted a divorce. I was a faithful wife to him. He remains unrepentant. My divorce was final just a few days before Valentineʼs Day. I was deeply grieving but decided to make dinner for friends to take my mind off my pain. I walked into Trader Joeʼs the day after Valentines Day, smelled all the fragrant flowers in the front and said to myself, “Self, you wonʼt be getting any flowers in a long time. You are undesirable and unlovable…romance is over, get used to it.” At the checkout counter just minutes later, the cashier handed me a bunch of long-stemmed red roses with a bow and asked, “Would you like some roses?” I guess they had a few extras from the day before. I knew at that moment what a personal, loving, empathetic, powerful, and even romantic God we have. I felt the love and power and knew that God had my back and that he knew my every thought and tear. Filled with awe in the presence of the Holy Spirit, suddenly every bush and flowering tree became a giant bouquet with my name on it from the Creator of the universe. I felt deeply loved. I moved in closer to Jesus and he delivered me from a very deep heartache. Jesus let me know in a very, very personal way that he loves me. He rescued me from my emotional turmoil, provided places to stay, Christian fellowship, free plane tickets, a job, and a vision of what faith really is. Itʼs like pointing the nose of the airplane down toward the ground in the fog. You canʼt see the runway, but your instruments (the Word of God) tell you its down there. I would never want to experience the pain of divorce again, but knowing in the depths of my soul that Jesus is there for me was a priceless lesson learned.
